 Guided Countryside Walk

The Langtons & Stonton Wyville

A tale of five villages

This seven mile walk takes in four of the Langton villages, Stonton Wyville and the beautiful countryside in between. You will learn about the visionary vicar and Handel's Messiah; pass by King Charles’s well and climb up Langton Caudle to the site of a windmill with fabulous views.

The route is easy to moderate walking through open farmland and villages. There is a climb up Langton Caudle, but nothing too strenuous. The paths are generally good, however there could be some muddy patches.

The weather cannot be predicted and therefore proper walking footwear and weatherproofs are recommended.  The route includes pastures with cattle and sheep present, therefore dogs are not allowed on this walk.

The guide reserves the right to exclude anyone from the walk who seems unlikely to be able to cope with the conditions on the day.

Starting Point:        The Crown Inn, Tur Langton

Duration of Walk:    3.5 hours
